Bath Riverside B6, B12, B40
Bath
Crest Nicholson
The Brief
Crest Nicholson appointed Design Delivery Unit to utilise Modern Methods of Construction for these two phases at the Bath Riverside development. The B6 and B12 town houses are a timber frame design, whilst the B40 apartments comprise of a light gauge steel structure solution on a concrete deck.
Added Value
Our previous experience with Modern Methods of Construction allowed us to develop simple and cost effective solutions to challenges raised and guide the client through the process.
Crest Nicholson also requested that B40 be delivered as a BIM Level 2 trial project. Our previous collaboration with other consultants in Revit on other phases allowed this to be implemented seamlessly.
Technical Challenges
The stone detailing to the town houses had be carefully considered to allow for the differential movement of the timber frame whilst maintaining the design intent of the concept architects.
For B40, the different ground floor construction meant that two sets of details were required for each interface.
